Meet Tres Clinton

Owner of C3 AIR LLC, Tres graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an B.S. degree in Aviation Management.  Tres has been flying since 2004 and teaching since 2007.  Tres was able to work as a flight instructor at a accredited part 141 flight training program with the University for 2 years before moving to his hometown of Burnet, TX. 

 

Working with former DPE and Master CFI, Ken Wittekiend with ProMark Aviation Services for more than a decade, Tres gained quality teaching skills and has had the opportunity to work with dozens of pilots with over a 90% first time pass rate for their check rides. 

Tres served in the Texas Army National Guard from 2010-2016 as a Fire Support Specialist "Fister" with the 36th Combat Aviation Brigade and was able to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom.

 

With over 3000 hours teaching and more than 5000 total, Tres has taught Sport Pilot through CFI and specializes in tailwheel and seaplane training both basic and advanced.  He has his Single & Multi-Engine Commercial, Airplane Single Sea certificate, Tailwheel, as well as his CFI & CFII.  Tres is currently working on his Master CFI.

The Recreational Aviation Foundation Texas State Liaison, member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Society of Aviation Flight Educators (SAFE), and Seaplane Pilots Association, Tres is involved in aviation throughout the industry and continues to promote safe aviation techniques in all his courses.

Burnet, TX

C3 Air is based in Burnet (BMQ) and located in the Texas Hill Country just northwest of Austin.  Burnet, TX offers a great training area due to its access to a variety of different airspace and airports in a short amount of time.

Meet other C3 Instructors

Doug Brunson

Doug is returning to the Burnet airport where he began flight instructing 40 years ago. Hired by American Airlines in 1985, he has recently retired and returned to his general aviation roots, focusing on primary, commercial, and instrument students.

 

A captain at American for over 28 years,he accumulated over 25000 hours, flying the B-727, 757, 767,and MD80 aircraft, working at American’s Flight Academy as a Check Airman on the MD80.


He retired September 1st of last year after flying B-777 on American’s international routes after 36 years.

 

Doug has flown a variety of general aviation aircraft, instructing in Pipers and Cessnas, and is the proud owner of a 1966 Piper Comanche, which is hangared at KBMQ.

 

Doug holds an ATP certificate as a well as CFI, IA, and MEI, and is type rated in the BE-1900, MD80, B-757, 767, and 777.
